    Resumen: Hacia fines de la década de los 80’ en América Latina y el Caribe y luego de esfuerzos de articulación en el contexto de luchas sociales de resistencia, las feministas se enfrentaron de manera aguda a dilemas políticos que desencadenaron en el clivaje autonomía versus institucionalidad. Objetivo: Analizar la reconstrucción del clivaje autonomía e institucionalidad en América Latina y el Caribe, con el fin de reflexionar sobre las persistencias y nuevos contornos del movimiento feminista en el siglo XXI, destacando su reemergencia y su impacto en la región. Metodología: Desarrollo de una revisión bibliográfica para la reconstrucción del debate y la experiencia feminista Latinoamericana, desde las primeras coordenadas sociohistóricas del clivaje en cuestión, para dar paso a una aproximación a la caracterización del movimiento en las últimas décadas. Resultados: Se observan posiciones que nos devuelven a las discusiones gestadas en los años noventa dentro del movimiento feminista latinoamericano. Discusión: Existencia de tensiones que poseen una raíz histórica y que brida una reflexión crítica dentro del movimiento en pleno siglo XXI condicionando la búsqueda por la justicia social. Conclusión: Presencia de márgenes difusos entre autonomía e institucionalidad tanto en niveles y dimensiones, delineando nuevos contornos en el debate feminista.

    Abstract:  Towards the end of the 1980s in Latin America and the Caribbean, and following efforts to articulate within the context of social resistance struggles, feminists acutely faced political dilemmas that led to the cleavage of autonomy versus institutionalization. Objective: To analyze a reconstruction of the autonomy and institutionalization cleavage in Latin America and the Caribbean, allowing for reflection on the persistence and new contours in moments of the re-emergence of the feminist movement in the 21st century. Methodology: Development of a bibliographic review to reconstruct the debate and Latin American feminist experience, from the first socio-historical coordinates of the cleavage in question, leading to an approach to characterize the movement in recent decades. Results: Positions are observed that return us to the discussions that emerged in the 1990s within the Latin American feminist movement. Discussion: Existence of tensions that have a historical root and provide a critical reflection within the movement in the 21st century, conditioning the search for social justice. Conclusion: Presence of diffuse margins between autonomy and institutionalization at various levels and dimensions, outlining new contours in the feminist debate.
