    La presencia de la materia en los versos de Claudio Rodríguez es tan importante como necesaria, no sólo a la hora de entrar a disfrutar de sus poemas, sino para poder entender de forma clara y certera su cosmovisión y la hechura de su pensamiento poético. En otros lugares hemos analizado la importancia de este aspecto que le ayuda a construir una especie de Antropología Poética pegada al mundo y a las cosas que le rodean, conformando con ello una forma de ver la vida siempre al lado de los elementos de la naturaleza y del entorno próximo que fue consolidando su aprendizaje a lo largo del tiempo. En el presente artículo, si la luz y la claridad, la tierra y la piedra, el aire y la herrumbre han definido muchos de los temas de su poesía; la presencia del agua va a ser una de las claves poéticas que le ayuden a entender la realidad y todo lo que le rodea. Así, si la lluvia o el Duero- su río Duradero- son importantes y tienen una clara vigencia junto al amor, el canto y la salvación; a medida que pasan los años y surgen nuevos poemas la relevancia del mar junto al amor se convierte en una de las claves a estudiar para comprender la importancia que la presencia de lo hídrico tiene en su poesía reciente y siempre viva.

    The presence of matter in Claudio Rodríguez’s verses is as important as it is necessary, not only to fully appreciate his poems but also to understand, clearly and accurately, his worldview and the formation of his poetic thought. We have analyzed the significance of this element before, which helps him construct a kind of Poetic Anthropology closely connected to the world and the things surrounding him. Through which, he shapes a short of life outlook that remains close to elements of nature and his immediate environment, steadily shaping his learning over time. In this article, if light and clarity, earth and stone, air and rust have defined many of the themes in his poetry, then the presence of water will be one of the poetic keys to understanding his reality and all that surrounds him. In this way, if rain or the Duero—his enduring river— are central and clearly relevant, along with love, song, and salvation; as the years pass and new poems emerge, the significance of the sea alongside love becomes one of the crucial elements to study in order to understand the importance that the presence of water holds in his recent and ever-living poetry.
