‘Paraíso a la deriva’: El Turismo Rural Sustentable, gentrificación y migración en la disputa territorial (San Miguel de Allende, México)

    La investigación tuvo como objetivo conocer el potencial del turismo rural (TRS) en Jalpa, considerando los desafíos y oportunidades en un contexto de gentrificación rural y migración a Estados Unidos cual amenazan a su identidad y sostenibilidad local. Ante el tema sociocultural objeto de estudio, se aplicó el enfoque de investigación cualitativo aplicado desde el diseño de Investigación-Acción Participativa. Como muestra se eligió siete actores clave (líderes, emprendedores en turismo y mujeres cabezas de familia). La Investigación-Acción Participativa como estrategia para desarrollar capacidades. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó protocolos de entrevista y cuestionarios en tres talleres. Asimismo, la realización de diarios de campo, cartografías, grabación de entrevistas y la toma de fotografías. El hallazgo principal advierte, cómo el fenómeno de la desterritorialización y la migración propicia el desarraigo cultural y la pérdida de prácticas tradicionales afectando negativamente la oferta turística. Se concluye que efectivamente, Jalpa reúne un potencial sui géneris para emprender el TRS, donde el compromiso debe ser el fomento de estrategias de gestión participativa, la participación comunal y la preservación de tradiciones y patrimonios.

    The objective of the research was to understand the potential of rural tourism (TRS) in Jalpa, considering the challenges and opportunities in a context of rural gentrification and migration to the United States that threaten its identity and local sustainability. Given the sociocultural topic under study, the qualitative research approach applied from the Participatory Action Research design was applied. Seven key actors were chosen as a sample (leaders, tourism entrepreneurs and women heads of family). Participatory Action Research as a strategy to develop capacities. For data collection, interview protocols and questionnaires were applied in three workshops. Likewise, making field diaries, cartographies, recording interviews and taking photographs. The main finding warns how the phenomenon of deterritorialization and migration promotes cultural uprooting and the loss of traditional practices, negatively affecting the tourist offer. It is concluded that Jalpa indeed has a sui generis potential to undertake the TRS, where the commitment must be the promotion of participatory management strategies, communal participation and the preservation of traditions and heritage.
