    La historia de Judit ha sido uno de los pasajes del Antiguo Testamento en la Historia del Arte, lo cual ha tenido como consecuencia la asociación de este personaje con distintos arquetipos de feminidad. En las siguientes páginas investigaremos desde la perspectiva de género la recepción iconográfica de la heroína de Betulia por parte de dos grandes pintoras, Artemisia Gentileschi y Lavinia Fontana, y analizaremos su impacto para la construcción de la feminidad a lo largo del tiempo.

    The story of Judit has been one of the Old Testament most represented passages in the History of Art, which has resulted in the association of this character with different archetypes of femininity. In the following pages we will investigate from a gender perspective the iconographic reception of the heroine of Betulia by two great painters, Artemisia Gentileschi and Lavinia Fontana, and we will analyze its impact on the construction of femininity over time.
