Mecanismos de construcción y textos semióticos configuradores de la figura del monstruo en el cuento La madre del monstruo de Máximo Gorki

    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el cuento La madre del monstruo de Máximo Gorki, para determinar cuáles son los mecanismos de proceso, de acción, gramaticales y retóricos por medio de los cuales se construye y se percibe el cuerpo monstruoso: ocultamiento, ruido, movimiento, devoración, animalización, cosificación, derivación, hipérbole y comparación, los cuales ejercen, en el cuento, un proceso de deshumanización en un niño para convertirlo en un monstruo. También se detectan los textos semióticos (Cross, 1986) que configuran el sistema de oposiciones por medio de los cuales se concibe y configura la figura monstruosa. Se aplicarán elementos de análisis semiótico, literario y gramatical para identificar y explicar los mecanismos que se utilizan para la construcción del cuerpo monstruoso, así como los textos semióticos que los sustentan. Se demostrará cómo, en el cuento, un ser humano se deshumaniza progresivamente para convertirse en monstruo por medio de los mecanismos ya mencionados. Es escasa la bibliografía que estudia el tema de la construcción del cuerpo monstruoso en Gorki (1977), lo cual demuestra la necesidad de estudiarlo para generar conocimiento nuevo.

    The objective of this article is to analyze the story La madre del monstruo by Máximo Gorky, to determine which are the process, action, grammatical and rhetorical mechanisms through which the monstrous body is constructed and perceived: concealment, noise, movement, devouring, animalization, reification, derivation, hyperbole, and comparison, which exert, in the story, a process of dehumanizing a child to turn him into a monster. The semiotic texts (Cross, 1986) that configure the system of oppositions through which the monstrous figure is conceived and configured are also detected. Elements of semiotic, literary and grammatical analysis will be applied to identify and explain the mechanisms used to build the monstrous body, as well as the semiotic texts that support them. It will be demonstrated how, in the story, a human being progressively dehumanizes to become a monster through the aforementioned mechanisms. The bibliography that studies the subject of the construction of the monstrous body in Gorki (1977) is scarce, which demonstrates the need to study it to generate new knowledge.
