    Este artículo estudia la discusión sobre política urbana al interior de la Junta Militar de Gobierno, entre 1973 y 1979. El análisis considera los problemas que la dictadura identificó, sus organismos asesores, así como las soluciones y objetivos propuestos. En ese marco, la Junta delimitó la problemática urbana en torno a varias dimensiones: la falta de un control territorial-administrativo, un grave déficit habitacional, tomas ilegales y una exigua situación económica. Planteamos que la Política Nacional de Desarrollo Urbano, entonces, buscó sintetizar una solución –en clave neoliberal– de estos problemas, nutriéndose de varias medidas tomadas por la dictadura entre 1976 y 1979, bajo la asesoría de los Chicago Boys.

    This paper studies the urban policy discussion within the Government Junta of Chile, between 1973 and 1979. The analysis considers the problems that the dictatorship identified, its advisors, as well as the proposed solutions and objectives. In this context, the Junta defined the urban problem around several dimensions: the lack of territorial-administrative control, a serious housing deficit, illegal occupation of land and a weak economic situation. We propose that the National Urban Development Policy, then, sought to synthesize a neoliberal solution to these problems, drawing on various measures taken by the dictatorship between 1976 and 1979, under the advice of the Chicago Boys.
