    • In order to formulate physical quantitative laws and solve physical problems, mathematics is a necessary tool. However, sometimes physical ideas can also aid in obtaining mathematical results and solving mathematical problems in a unique and interesting way (see Ref. 1 and references therein; see also Refs. 2–5). These approaches are nonstandard and motivating, and introduce students to the interdisciplinary connections between physics and mathematics. This article uses kinematic representations through the “physical method” to derive some well-known mathematical expressions for determining the radii of curvature of two-dimensional curves.
