    El artículo analiza la renovación de la escatología en el siglo XX teniendo en cuenta dos cauces: el teológico y la crisis histórico-cultural de inicios del siglo XX. El autor propone recorrer esos dos cauces para reconocer algunas de las causas que llevaron al resurgimiento de este tratado teológico, relegado al letargo en la teología a lo largo de los últimos siglos. El texto cierra con una mención de la esperanza, virtud fundamental para sostener la permanente renovación de la escatología.

    The article analyzes the renewal of eschatology in the 20th century taking into accounttwo channels: the theological and the historical-cultural crisis of the early 20th century. The author proposes going through these two channels in order to recognize some of the causes that led to the resurgence of this theological treatise, relegated to a lethargic state in theology over the last centuries. The text closes with a mention of hope, a fundamental virtue to sustain the permanent renewal of eschatology.
