This paper aims to highlight the influence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a student and how to assist in improving their educational experience. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to delve into the understanding of what it means to have this disorder and how it affects human functionality, with the purpose of comprehending this difficulty, which remains unfamiliar to many. Progressing in the research, and with the contribution of science embedded in this work, it is determined that autism is a condition that may be accompanied by other comorbidities affecting neurological development. It is not a disease and therefore has no cure, only treatment. Its impact is limited to the lack of cognitive-linguistic skills, with behavioral restrictions, presenting repetitive behaviors and limited interests, making it difficult for the student to normally develop their academic activities, general abilities, and competencies. Since this disorder manifests in the first three years of life, early childhood education professionals should be aware of the warning signs to inform parents, allowing the student to receive treatment as early as possible, with the aim of improving their quality of life. Teachers, in general, must be capable of applying educational strategies according to the student's diagnosis and treatment to promote their academic progress.
