  • Resumen
    • The present article addresses the issue of UG’s Transformational Component by focusing on movements, which form the most important class of elementary operations. Movements are operations which reorder constituents. Our focus is not on movements which seem to specifically involve complementizers and their projections, but on those movements in English which appear to move an element out of the IP but which do not involve the CP. This indicates that there are positions between the CP and the IP. We will briefly examine such movements which affect the clause structure, as it is the case of topicalisation, focus fronting and negative fronting.
