    El Data Mining (minería de datos) es un proceso complejo que permite la generación de conocimiento tomando como base grandes volúmenes de datos, esto requiere el uso de recursos tecnológicos, humanos y financieros considerablemente altos por lo que aplicar en las microempresas ecuatorianas resulta ser un trabajo costoso, desaprovechando con ello las ventajas que esta tecnología provee.  El objetivo entonces fue determinar el valor del costo-beneficio neto que permitió conocer los beneficios económicos y/o monetarios que se logra al implementar data mining con software libre comparado con sus similares comerciales en las PYMES ecuatorianas, aplicando para ello un análisis costo-beneficio de entre las diferentes herramientas existentes, cuyo resultado permitirá definir si implementar o no esta tecnología en los procesos de toma de decisiones en las microempresas. Con la metodología analítica-sintética se recopiló toda la información disponible tanto del software libre como comercial para data mining, se aplicó luego un trabajo de síntesis a partir de los resultados obtenidos del proceso costo-beneficio realizado. El valor del costo-beneficio neto tuvo un resultado positivo que demuestra un ahorro económico y beneficios no monetarios como la mejora en la toma de decisiones empresariales con idénticos resultados tanto con herramientas comerciales como libres, por lo tanto, las PYMEs pueden estar seguros y confiados en implementar esta importante tecnología que le permitirá resolver problemas con decisiones empresariales efectivas aumentando así sus beneficios de toda índole

    Data Mining is a complex process that allows the generation of knowledge based on large volumes of data, this requires the use of considerably high technological, human and financial resources, so applying it in Ecuadorian microenterprises turns out to be a expensive work, thereby wasting the advantages that this technology provides. The objective then was to determine the value of the net cost-benefit that allowed us to know the economic and/or monetary benefits that are achieved by implementing data mining with free software compared to its commercial counterparts in Ecuadorian SMEs, applying a cost-benefit analysis. from among the different existing tools, the result of which will allow defining whether or not to implement this technology in the decision-making processes in microenterprises. With the analytical-synthetic methodology, all the information available from both free and commercial software for data mining was collected, a synthesis work was then applied based on the results obtained from the cost-benefit process carried out. The net cost-benefit value had a positive result that demonstrates economic savings and non-monetary benefits such as improvement in business decision making with identical results with both commercial and free tools, therefore, SMEs can be safe and confident in implementing this important technology that will allow you to solve problems with effective business decisions, thus increasing your benefits of all kinds
