    El presente estudio pretende dar a conocer la importancia de La Almoraima desde finales del siglo XIX, cuando la transformación del edificio Convento en un lujoso palacete de recreo y la puesta en funcionamiento de la línea férrea Bobadilla-Algeciras hizo que adquiriera notable relevancia para la sociedad aristocrática nacional e internacional. Eran los guardas jurados los encargados de velar por el mantenimiento y conservación de la finca. La figura de guarda de campo jurado tuvo su origen en la Edad Moderna, durante el reinado de Fernando VI. Se describe la evolución de dicha labor desde su origen hasta la actualidad.

    This study aims to show the importance of La Almoraima since the end of the 19th century, when the transformation of the Convent building into a luxurious pleasure palace and the commissioning of the Bobadilla-Algeciras railway line meant that it acquired considerable importance for national and international aristocratic society. The sworn guards were responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the estate. The figure of the sworn gamekeeper originated in the Modern Age, during the reign of Ferdinand VI. The evolution of this function from its origins to the present day is described.
