Alba Ramírez Saiz

  • Cycling as a means of transportation has expanded abruptly worldwide since the COVID19 pandemic. However, multiple agents have raised concerns about how soft mobility aspredominant means of transportation could affect people with low vision or total vision loss, primarily in terms of interjections, street crossings and shared streets, making walking with visualdisability dangerous and uncertain. This article shows an Atlas with a collection of images and planimetry from various cities in Spain and France to offer a condensed perspective of currentpractices of these brand-new, post-pandemic infrastructures, providing a discussion of do's and do not's. It aims to shed some light on a problem that is yet to be addressed by many urban planners to create more socially and environmentally resilient cities.
