As the world continues to urbanize at an unprecedented rate, pursuing sustainable cities has become imperative. Achieving sustainability within this complex context necessitates the employment of comprehensive assessment methods. The study delves into a comprehensive review of prominent urban sustainability assessment methods, including LEED for Neighborhood Development, BREEAM Communities, and GRIHA for cities.It identifies commonalities and differences in their assessment criteria, data sources, and evaluation techniques. In conclusion, this research paper provides a crucial foundation for advancing the cause of sustainable cities by comprehensively examining and evaluating the tools and methods available to urban planners, policymakers, andstakeholders.
