    Se presenta la primera transcripción y propuesta de traducción de un amuleto inscrito en arameo y hallado en las excavaciones del macellum de Gerasa (Jerash, Jordania). Aunque el texto está muy mutilado, su hallazgo es de gran interés por testimoniar la continuidad de las prácticas mágicas judías, al final de la Antigüedad Tardía, en la región. Igualmente, demuestra que la pretendida iconofobia de la magia judía responde a un constructo historiográfico más que a una realidad.

    The first transcription and translation of an amulet written in Aramaic and found in the macellum of Gerasa (Jerash, Jordan) excavations is presented here. Although the text is mutilated, its finding is of great interest as it shows the continuity of Jewish magical practices, at the end of Late Antiquity, in the region. It also demonstrates that the alleged iconophobia of Jewish magic could be a historiographical construct, rather than a reality.
