Several contexts unearthed during excavations carried out at the so-called House of the Theater Mask in the Roman city of Complutum (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid) have yielded a small collection of materials of significant archaeological interest. Particularly noteworthy is an extraordinary African terra sigillata plate of the Hayes 51B type, unique in its kind, which we present here.
Additionally, there is an aulos crafted from a vulture bone, featuring three finger holes, making it the first of its kind known in the Iberian Peninsula. Furthermore, an evolved Dressel 2 wine amphora of Italian origin, previously unknown in the interior of the peninsula, has been found in complete condition. To complement these findings, a small assemblage of coins has been discovered, allowing us to date these contexts to the second quarter of the 4th century, with the possibility of extending into the second quarter of the 5th century.
