  • Resumen
    • Dynamic economic and morphological growth has prompted a shift in the public space use pattern including informal uses of sidewalks in Chittagong city. Over the past decade, the cityhas embraced informal urbanism by reshaping several sidewalks into an urban realm through planned development (i.e. sidewalk redevelopment in Jamal Khan node, and Kazir Dewri node)and organic development (i.e. street and sidewalks around Agrabad Commercial Area). The above-mentioned urban spaces have been selected for the study and evaluated by their physical, spatial, and sociocultural features along with psychological comfort from the user’s perceptions. Moreover, notable findings regarding the factors' impact on activity patterns and space utilization will put forth some valuable guidelines to the city authorities while transforming such informalpublic spaces.
