    El verso Ar. Th. 61 συγγογγύλας καὶ συστρέψας suele entenderse habitualmente con el sentido de “redondear en forma compacta” y “hacer girar”, como su paralelo en Ar. Lys. 975 ξυστρέψας καὶ ξυγγογγύλας, en distinto orden. Este significado, apto para Ar.

    Lys. 975, no lo parece tanto para Ar. Th. 61.

    A partir de este estudio, el verbo συγγογγύλλω se ha entendido como “redondear en forma compacta”, en relación con la composición literaria y la creación de periodos concisos; y el verbo συστρέφω como “dar forma concisa” a la expresión, frente a la prolijidad y verbosidad de los estilos parodiados en el pasaje, especialmente el del tragediógrafo Agatón.

    Line Ar. Th. 61 συγγογγύλας καὶ συστρέψας is usually understood in the sense of “to twist round” and “to roll up”, like its parallel in Ar. Lys. 975 ξυστρέψας καὶ ξυγγογγύλας, in different order. This meaning, suitable for Ar.

    Lys. 975, seems less so for Ar. Th. 61. On the basis of this study, the verb συγγογγύλλω has been understood as “to make compact, round” the literary composition, the construction of the periods; and the verb συστρέφω as “to condense”, “to make concise” the expression, as opposed to the prolixity and verbosity of the styles parodied in the passage, especially that of the dramatist Agathon.
