Diferencias en las perspectivas discursivas sobre la vejez y la muerte en adultos mayores pertenecientes a dos instituciones geriátricas de Bucaramanga

    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo principal comparar las perspectivas discursivas acerca de la vejez y la muerte en adultos mayores pertenecientes a dos instituciones geriátricas (Pública y Privada) de Bucaramanga, para ello se contó con la participación de diez adultos mayores, a quienes se les hizo una entrevista semiestructurada, organizando y clasificando la información obtenida mediante el programa ATLAS ti (v.7.5), generando la construcción de categorías y subcategorías que permitieron evidenciar en el Geriátrico Público síntomas depresivos en relación a la vejez y pensamientos o ideaciones suicidas respecto a la muerte, a diferencia del Geriátrico Privado, donde prevalece una perspectiva positiva frente a la vejez y una postura religiosa frente a la muerte. Finalmente se buscó brindar un aporte científico a nivel regional, ya que son pocos los estudios realizados a esta población, y fomentar la implementación de planes de promoción y prevención dirigidos a la institución.

    The main objective of this research is to compare the discursive perspectives of old age and death in older adults from two geriatric institutions (public and private) of Bucaramanga. For in which had the participation of 10 older adults, with a semi-structured interview, organizing and classifying the information obtained through the ATLAS ti program (v.7.5), generating the construction of categories and subcategories, which allowed evidence of depressive symptoms in the Public Geriatric Home in relation to old age and suicidal thoughts or ideations with respect to death, unlike Private Geriatric home, where there is a positive perspective about old age and a religious position towards death prevail. Finally, it was sought to provide a scientific contribution at the regional level, since there are few studies carried out on this population, and to promote the implementation of promotion and prevention plans directed at the institution.
