    Parto de la idea de que la aparición del fósil en la instalación Aranha (1991), de Nuno Ramos, interroga ontologías y epistemologías de lo viviente que están articuladas a formas de gobierno y administración sobre cuerpos, espacios y materias. Indagaré de qué maneras el fósil emerge como presencia de lo muerto y pone en tensión el reparto entre “lo vivo” y “lo no vivo”. De este modo, por un lado, interrogaré la articulación entre esta distribución y la gestión sobre espacios y materias “no vivas”. Por otro lado, atenderé a la pregunta que instala Aranha por la posibilidad de pensar una vida inerte, inorgánica, mineral, o bien, una presencia para la que tal vez todavía no tengamos nombres.

    The aim of this work is to show that emergence of the fossil in Nuno Ramos’ installation, Aranha (1991), questions ontologies and epistemologies of the 'living’ that are linked to forms of government and administration over bodies, spaces, and matter. I will investigate in what ways the fossil emerges as the presence of the dead and puts in tension the division between the “living” and “non-living”. In this way, on the one hand, I will question the articulation between this distribution and the management of “non-living” spaces and matter. On the other hand, I will attend to the question that Aranha asks about the possibility of thinking of an inert, inorganic, mineral life, or a presence for which perhaps we still do not have names.
