    El Código de Comercio boliviano vigente establece que el Registro de Comercio es la entidad encargada de registrar los actos comerciales y matricular a los comerciantes. A lo largo de los años el Registro de Comercio sufrió varios cambios en su administración, estando primero a cargo de una entidad dependiente del Estado, posteriormente encargada a una concesionaria privada y, actualmente, se retorna a la administración estatal mediante el Servicio Plurinacional de Registro de Comercio – SEPREC. Este artículo analiza en profundidad las transformaciones y desafíos que han surgido desde la incorporación del SEPREC, y el funcionamiento del Registro de Comercio dependiente de esta entidad, y realiza un breve estudio de derecho comparado con Perú, Argentina y Colombia.

    The current Bolivian Commercial Code establishes that the Commercial Registry is the entity in charge of registering commercial acts and registering merchants. Over the years the Registry of Commerce underwent several changes in its administration, being first in charge of an entity dependent on the State, later entrusted to a private concessionaire, and currently returned to state administration through the Plurinational Registry of Commerce Service - SEPREC. This article analyzes in depth the transformations and challenges that have arisen since the incorporation of SEPREC, and the operation of the Commercial Registry under this entity, and make a brief study of comparative law with Peru, Argentina and Colombia.
