Resumen de Caracterización y modelacion matemática del rio Cauca

El presente artículo describe en su primera parte los estudios efectuados para lograr una caracterización detallada del comportamiento hidrológico, hidráulico, sedimentológico, geomorfológico y de la calidad del agua del Río Cauca y sus tributarios en el sector comprendido entre la represa de Salvajina y el municipio de La Virginia. Posteriormente, se presenta el proceso de implementación de un modelo matemático para el Río Cauca y sus afluentes en el tramo mencionado. Este proceso incluyó la esquematización del sistema fluvial, la calibración y la verificación del modelo matemático y el análisis de sensibilidad de los principales parámetros físicos y numéricos del modelo.

This paper describes the studies carried out in order to get a detailed knowledgement of the hydrologic, hydrodynamic, sedimentological, geomorphological and water quality behavior of the Cauca River and its tributaries in the reach between Salvajina dam and the municipality of La Virginia. It also is presented the implementation process of a mathematical model for the Cauca River and its affluents in the mentioned sector. This process includes the fluvial system schematization, the calibration and the verification of the mathematical model and the sensitivity analysis of the physical and numerical model parameters.
