“Mapas afectivos”: el MUME y el Parque de la Memoria como matrices críticas para la representación artística del pasado

    El llamado “giro afectivo” ha irrumpido en el ámbito de las humanidades y las ciencias sociales para obligar a revisar ciertos conceptos clave, entre ellos los de agencia, espacialidad, representación y temporalidad. Entendido como una matriz que insiste en las cualidades performativas, conectivas e inestables de la dimensión afectiva (Ahmed, 2004; Sedgwick, 2003; Ticineto Clough, 2007), este marco implica revisar el modo en que el lector/actor constituye y se constituye a través de tal dimensión. Partiendo de estas premisas, el presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar dos espacios de memoria destinados a dar cuenta artísticamente de pasados considerados traumáticos o disruptivos: el Parque de la Memoria de la ciudad de Buenos Aires y el Museo de la Memoria de Montevideo. El contraste nos permitirá poner en cuestión la idea de “archivos de sentimientos” (Cvetkovich, 2003) para proponer la de “mapas afectivos” tanto por sus presupuestos teóricos como por sus consecuencias políticas.

    The so–called “affective turn” has irrupted into the field of humanities and social sciences forcing the revision of certain key con- cepts, such as agency, space, representation and temporality. Regarded as a matrix that insists on the performative, connective and unstable qualities of the affective dimension (Ahmed, 2004; Sedgwick, 2003; Ticineto Clough, 2007), such framework implies the revision of the way in which the reader/actor constitutes him/herself through that dimension. From these fundamentals, the pur- pose of this work is to analyze two spaces of memory created as artistic representations of the so–called traumatic or disruptive pasts: the Park of Memory in Buenos Aires and the Memory Museum located in Montevideo. A comparison of the two allows us to challenge the notion of “archive of feelings” (Cvetkovich, 2003) to propose that of “affective maps” instead, not only because of its theoretical fundamentals, but also because of its political consequences.
