  El objeto de estas páginas es presentar un breve recorrido del género de la literatura de viajes y la problemática actual de su investigación. El estudio forma parte de la introducción a un libro en vías de realización que pretende organizar los elementos que conforman la forma cultural del viaje y de la literatura a la que ha dado lugar, a partir del análisis de sus elementos generadores y diferenciales.

  The aim of this article is to offer a brief outline of the genre of travel literature and the problems that it poses to present-day research. The study is part of the introduction to a book that has the aim of organising the elements that configure the cultural form of travel and the literature that its analysis has originated.
