    El presente trabajo analiza la biografía inédita del arzobispo de valencia fray Juan Tomás de Rocabertí (1627 – †1699), compuesta entre finales del Seiscientos y comienzos de la posterior centuria por su hermano de hábito el padre José Agramunt a la mayor gloria del prelado y de la orden de Predicadores, a la que ambos pertenecieron. Se trata de un testimonio algo tardío de este tipo de literatura eclesiástica típicamente barroca, alejado todavía de los presupuestos historiográficos acordes a las Luces y en el que tradición hagiográfica y dimensión ejemplarizante se dieron cita bajo la especie del prelado ideal sancionado por Trento hacía más de un siglo.

    The present work analyzes the unpublished biography of the archbishop of valencia father Juan Tomás de Rocabertí (1627 – †1699), composed between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the subsequent century by his habit brother father José Agramunt to the greater glory of the prelate and of the order of Preachers, to which both belonged. It is a somewhat late testimony of this type of typically baroque ecclesiastical literature, still far from the historiographic assumptions according to the Enlighment and in which hagiographic tradition and exemplary dimension met under the species of the ideal prelate sanctioned by Trento more than one century
