Resumen de Serafí de Centelles, comte d'Oliva, i la cultura valenciana del Renaixement

El present treball té com a objectiu analitzar l’evolució del llinatge Centelles, un dels més importants del Regne de València entre els segles XV i XVI, revisant el seu ascens a la noblesa titulada i tot allò vinculat a la seua labor de mecenatge cultural. S’analitzarà especialment la figura de Serafín de Centelles (†1536), segon comte d’Oliva, no solament en el seu perfil més conegut, el de patró i impulsor de la cultura valenciana del Renaixement, sinó intentant aportar algunes claus sobre els possibles integrants del seu cercle literari i també valorant la importància de la seua pròpia producció poètica recollida en el Cancionero general d’Hernando del Castillo.

This article analyzes a Spanish noble lineage, the Centelles, a very important family of the Valencian Kingdom during the 15th and 16th centuries. It deals with their evolution from simple feudal lords to the high nobility, considering also the Centelles’ role as cultural patrons. In particular, this paper focuses on Seraphim de Centelles, second Count of Oliva, not only analyzing his well-known role as cultural patron and sponsor but also the possible members of his courtly milieu. In addition, it offers an evaluation of his poetry (included in the Cancionero general by Hernando del Castillo).
