    En el término municipal de Malanquilla existen dos despoblados medievales, Las Casas y La Casa del Moro. Los trabajos de prospección arqueológica desarrollados en agosto de 2019 no han conseguido fijar con precisión su cronología, dado el escaso y ambiguo material cerámico medieval recogido, si bien han permitido documentar en Las Casas estructuras nuevas, reinterpretar otras y descartar definitivamente su antigua atribución a un campamento romano. De acuerdo con la documentación escrita, se presume su fundación en la segunda mitad del siglo XIII.

    In the municipal district of Malanquilla there are two medieval desert villages, Las Casas and La Casa del Moro. The archaeological survey works carried out in August 2019 have not succeeded in establishing its chronology with precision, because of the scarce and ambiguous ceramic material collected, although they have made possible to identify in Las Casas new structures, reinterpret others and definitively rule out its former identification as a Roman military camp. According to the written documentation, its foundation is presumed to be in the second half of the 13th century
