Conocimiento sobre curación de heridas quirúrgicas

    OBJETIVO: Determinar el conocimiento sobre curación de heridas quirúrgicas que poseen los estudiantes de cuarto año que se encuentren en los servicios de cirugía de hombres, mujeres y pediátrica de los hospitales de Chiquimula, Jalapa y Zacapa. MÉTODOS: Se realizó una investigación acción con 33 estudiantes de cuarto año de Medicina de CUNORI, se hizo un diagnóstico inicial con un test, posteriormente capacitados en talleres teóricos prácticos para ser evaluados nuevamente. RESULTADOS: Se obtuvo en el diagnóstico previo a la capacitación que el 97% de los estudiantes evaluados de los tres hospitales presentaron un inadecuado conocimiento sobre curación de heridas quirúrgicas, a base de estos resultados se procedió a realizar una capacitación y taller de curación de heridas quirúrgicas, donde posterior se vuelve a evaluar con el mismo test a los estudiantes obteniendo una mejoría significativa de que un 30% presentaron regulares conocimientos y un 67% un adecuado conocimiento. Conclusiones: El conocimiento sobre curaciones de heridas quirúrgicas de los estudiantes de cuarto año es inadecuado previo a la capacitación, pero posterior a la capacitación se evidencia una gran mejoría a regulares y adecuados conocimientos, dejando evidente el éxito de la investigación.

    OBJECTIVE: To determine the knowledge about surgical wound healing possessed by fourth year students who are in the men's, women's and pediatric surgery services of the hospitals of Chiquimula, Jalapa and Zacapa. METHODS: An action research was carried out with 33 fourth year medical students from CUNORI, an initial diagnosis was made with a test, subsequently trained in theoretical and practical workshops to be evaluated again. RESULTS: It was obtained in the diagnosis prior to the training that 97% of the evaluated students from the three hospitals presented an inadequate knowledge about surgical wound healing, based on these results a training and workshop on surgical wound healing was carried out where later the students were evaluated again with the same test, obtaining a significant improvement that 30% presented regular knowledge and 67% adequate knowledge. CONCLUSIONS: The knowledge of fourth-year students on surgical wound healing is inadequate prior to training, but after training there is evidence of a great improvement to regular and adequate knowledge, making evident the success of the research.
