En este trabajo se pretende analizar la construcción de la imagen de las reinas consortes del siglo XVIII español como «antiheroínas› del relato nacional decimonónico destinado a legitimar el recién implantado Estado-nación. Para ello, se plantea un estudio con perspectiva de género de la obra Historia General de España de Modesto Lafuente.

In this paper we analyze the image of xviii Century consort queens of Spain inXIX Century nationalist historiography. Along this historical narrative, created to legitimize the just instituted nation-state, these Queens tended to play the role of «antiheroines›. With this aim, and from a gender perspective, the present essay focus on Modesto Lafuente’s Historia General de España.
