Allele and haplotype frequencies of 6Y-chromosome STR loci, DYS19, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DIS391 and DYS393, were obtained among 57 male individuals from Equatorial Guinea. Allele diversity varied between 0, 4282 (DYS391) and 06273 (DYS19). 30 individuals out of 57 presented a unique haplotype and 9 haplotypes were divided among the rest of individuals. Haplotype diversity was 0,9806 ± 0,0076, a relative high value, similar to other studied Gulf of Guinea samples. Comparison with several African series showed a closer relantionship between Equatorial Guinea and groups who spoke Bantu language and several haplotypes, classified as Bantu types (THOMAS et al., 2000; PEREIRA et al., 2002), were found in our sample.
