  • Resumen
    • There is no doubt that in Neanderthals, the plesiomorphe characters as well as the only derived characters appear mixed among the population. The european Neanderthals have some specific features, mainly cranial and facial ones, that helped to differentiate them from others contemporary and later human groups. But most of these presumably different features, also appear in the fossil material from the Upper Pleistocene europeans, although without the same frecuency or metric expression in the last periods. So, what it really makes different to the Neanderthals is the frecuency of characters, because in fact, there ar not specific characters. It is an error to infer something absolute from a relative higher frecuency, so that hey only represent or assume an indicative value, but it is not absolute.
