Os discursos antivacina e pró-vacina dos presidentes: declarações de Bolsonaro e Lula sob a perspectiva semiolinguística

    This article aims to analyze anti-vaccine and pro-vaccine speeches by former President Bolsonaro and President Lula, respectively, given in statements to the press in 2020 and 2023, while they were heads of states. We seek to investigate how such discourses, present in the two statements published on YouTube, are constructed and what their possible impacts on vaccination adherence are. The analyzes followed the analytical perspective of Patrick Charaudeau's Semiolinguistic Theory, highlighting the established communication contract, the discursive strategies present and the ways of organizing the discourse, emphasizing the argumentative mode. The results of the analyzes showed that the speeches given by Bolsonaro and Lula present arguments in defense of their anti-vaccine and pro-vaccine positions through the use of different argumentative strategies. Among them, the disqualification of the vaccine made by Bolsonaro through controversial arguments stands out, while Lula mobilized arguments based on the idea of the vaccine as a means of preserving life, in a speech based on the appeal.

    Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar discursos antivacina e pró-vacina do ex-presidente Bolsonaro e do presidente Lula, respectivamente, proferidos em declarações à imprensa nos anos de 2020 e 2023, enquanto eram chefes de estado. Buscamos averiguar como tais discursos, presentes nas duas declarações publicadas no YouTube, são construídos e quais são os seus possíveis impactos na adesão à vacinação. As análises seguiram a perspectiva analítica da Teoria Semiolinguística de Patrick Charaudeau, sendo destacados o contrato de comunicação estabelecido, as estratégias discursivas presentes e os modos de organização do discurso, dando ênfase ao modo argumentativo. Os resultados das análises apontaram que os discursos proferidos por Bolsonaro e Lula apresentam argumentos em defesa de seus posicionamentos antivacina e pró-vacina, por meio do uso de diferentes estratégias argumentativas. Dentre elas, ressalta-se a desqualificação da vacina feita por Bolsonaro através de uma argumentação de caráter polêmico, enquanto Lula mobilizou argumentos respaldados na ideia da vacina como meio de preservação da vida, em um discurso pautado no apelo.
