Human beings, hermeneutic animals, perceive and interpret both the biological and the cultural as a significant unit where the most important issue is the process of imaginative exploration of both human nature and the external world. The monster, the fantastic par excellence, represents an outstanding example of that significant unit by means of which the exploration process is achieved and becomes meaningful.
