    Uno de los aspectos donde se entrevén las influencias pictóricas llegadas a través de artífices y talleres foráneos es el paisaje, tanto natural como arquitectónico. Circunstancia que se advierte con claridad en la pintura valenciana entre los inicios del siglo XV y el primer tercio del siglo XVI en tres etapas sucesivas: el gótico internacional, la corriente hispano-flamenca y el Quattrocento. Influencias que van a condicionar los fondos de las composiciones elaboradas por los pintores del reino de Valencia como argumento de modernidad a medida que estas se vayan asimilando y aceptando por su clientela. Paisajes, por otro lado, progresivamente extraños a los propios e interpretados como elementos de renovación estilística.

    One of the aspects where the pictorial influences that came through foreign artists and workshops can be glimpsed is the landscape, both natural and architectural. This circumstance can be clearly seen in Valencian painting between the beginning of the 15th century and the first third of the 16th century in three successive stages: the International Gothic, the Spanish-Flemish trend and the Quattrocento. Influences that will condition the backgrounds of the compositions produced by the painters of the kingdom of Valencia as an argument for modernity as they are assimilated and accepted by their clientele. Landscapes, on the other hand, are progressively alien to their own and interpreted as elements of stylistic renewal.
