Resumen de Hacia una definición de las variables pragmáticas en psicología del lenguaje: II. El mundo de referencia

Eliseo Díez Itza

  • This paper continues a task started at the first part of it (previously published in, Contextos, VI/11: 91-108), regarding the definition of pragmatic variables on Psychology of language. We take into account the referential world of linguistic activity as an important source of extralinguistic variables. Together with the situation, considered already in the first part, the world the messages refer to, explains most of what we call subject external variables. The Introduction goes into the world of reference concept considered as an extensional type of world. Its effects on linguistic activity are mediated by semantic representations of reality. The nuclear part of the article is devoted to the questions raised here, related to this fact of a second signalling-system, questions such as definite reference or referential opacity; and it deals also with the empirical psycholinguistic evidence about reversibility, negation, truth value and other contextual effects on meaning.
