  • This paper intends to put forward a new and integrative standpoint wherefrom phenomena of diathesis (and also those of pronominalization) in Romance languages may be characterized. Namely, the concept of perspective, taken from Fillmore and directly related to the theory of cases and valencies. The results following from this hypothesis are instantiated by means of the Spanish verbs morir and suicidarse.
