    Partiendo de los diversos desarrollos teóricos y resultados de investigaciones en América del Sur, África y Europa, este libro tematiza, con notable profundidad, la participación de niños y adolescentes de los países del Sur y su correlación con el logro de la justicia social. Tomando como marco el enfoque de capacidades, se argumenta que los niños y adolescentes tienen agencia, por lo que pueden tomar decisiones con respecto a las cosas que valoran y actuar, mancomunadamente, con otros agentes para ampliar el conjunto de capacidades colectivas, en pos del logro de la justicia y la dignidad para todos. Los autores procuran, a lo largo del libro, que sus argumentos impacten en políticas públicas y abran nuevas fronteras para la investigación sobre la agencia, el empoderamiento y la participación de los niños, y los métodos de investigación que los involucran.

    Starting from the various theoretical developments and research results in South America, Africa and Europe, this book analyzes the participation of children and adolescents in Southern countries and its correlation with the achievement of social justice. Taking the capabilities approach as a framework, it is argued that children and adolescents have agency, so they can make decisions regarding the things they value and act, jointly, with other agents to expand the set of collective capabilities, in pursuit of the achievement of justice and dignity for all. The authors seek, throughout the book, for their arguments to impact public policies and open new frontiers for research on the agency, empowerment and participation of children, and the research methods that involve them.
