Introduction: The X cranial nerve is the longest nerve and covers the largest surface of the body, sending fibers to the viscera of the neck, thorax and abdomen. It is the most predominant neural effector of the parasympathetic nervous system, since it comprises 75% of all its nerve fibers. Methodology: This study is a quasi-experimental quantitative research, with an immediate pretest-post-test design assessed with an algometer, with a non-probabilistic sample for accessibility considering the characteristics of the study participants. The participants were 102 people with neck pain. Conclusions: The path of the vagus nerve is together with the internal carotid artery and the internal jugular vein, forming with them the main vascular-nervous package of the neck. Thus, it descends through the neck included in this package, posteromedial to the sternocleidomastoid muscle, its proximity to the cervical musculature will allow its electrostimulation to improve the symptoms of neck pain.
