Análisis bibliométrico de metodologías para valorar el potencial turístico en el territorio rural

    Objetivo: caracterizar la literatura científica mundial de la última década (2012-2022) sobre valoración del potencial turístico y analizar las metodologías empleadas en tales estudios. Metodología: se realizó una Revisión Sistemática Cuantitativa de la Literatura (SQLR), la cual, a través de las etapas de identificación, revisión y filtrado y selección y análisis, se revisaron 83 artículos que abordaron el tema. Resultados: se identificó a la valoración del potencial turístico como un tema multidisciplinario de creciente interés global, con un enfoque metodológico cuantitativo y con el uso integral de criterios ambientales, sociales, culturales y económicos para realizar las valoraciones. Sin embargo, aunque el objetivo a largo plazo era detonar proyectos turísticos sostenibles en los territorios a través de sus investigaciones, fue escasa la inclusión de las comunidades locales en la investigación mundial. Limitaciones: el estudio solo considera publicaciones provenientes de la base de datos Scopus. Conclusiones: se percibe como carente la tendencia metodológica actual del tema al plantearse como objetivo a largo plazo el promover la filosofía del turismo sostenible, pero paralelamente no contempla a las comunidades locales como los gestores turísticos principales.

    Objective: Characterize the world scientific literature of the last decade (2012-2022) on the assessment of tourism potential and analyze the methodologies used in such studies. Methodology: A Quantitative Systematic Literature Review (SQLR) was carried out, which, through the stages of identification, review and filtering and selection and analysis, 83 articles that addressed the topic were reviewed. Results: The assessment of tourism potential was identified as a multidisciplinary topic of growing global interest, with a quantitative methodological approach and the comprehensive use of environmental, social, cultural and economic criteria to carry out the assessments. However, although the long-term objective was to detonate sustainable tourism projects in the territories through its research, the inclusion of local populations in global research was scarce. Limitations: The study only considers publications from the Scopus database. Conclusions: The current methodological trend of the topic is perceived as lacking in considering the long-term objective of promoting the philosophy of sustainable tourism, but at the same time it does not identify local populations as the main tourism managers.
