    O presente trabalho aborda o ritmo do candombe e sua presença no repertório da guitarra clássica. O candombe, originalmente executado apenas por tambores, desenvolveu-se sobretudo em meio à população uruguaia de origem africana. Após apresentar de forma concisa a evolução histórica do candombe, levantaremos detalhes sobre os instrumentos utilizados e sua forma de execução. A seguir, discutiremos o uso do candombe no repertório da guitarra clássica, incluindo um enfoque analítico sobre obras de câmara do presente autor em dois contextos distintos: música instrumental e canções.

    The present work addresses the candombe rhythm and its presence in the classical guitar repertoire. The candombe, originally played solely by drums, flourished mainly amidst the Uruguayan population of African origin. After concisely presenting the historical evolution of the candombe, we will investigate its musical instruments and their performance practices. Following, we will discuss the use of the candombe in the classical guitar repertoire, including an analytical look of chamber works written by the present author, in two distinct contexts: instrumental music and songs.
