  • The article explores the symbolism and historical significance of the coat of arms of the Principality of Asturias, particularly focusing on its depiction of the Cruz de la Victoria (Victory Cross) and its connection to medieval legends and religious iconography. It traces the origins of this emblem to the city of Oviedo and delves into the narratives surrounding the Cruz de la Victoria and other votive crosses housed in the Cathedral of Oviedo's Holy Chamber. Through an analysis of these artifacts and their associated legends, the article elucidates their role as royal offerings and their enduring impact on Asturian identity and heraldic tradition.
