  • Effective onboarding aligns new hires with company culture, reduces turnover, and boosts motivation. This article highlights the importance of onboarding in enhancing employee integration, productivity, and organizational growth and it emphasizes the onboarding as a continuous process, not limited to the first day, and involves orientation, training, and ongoing support. It reports, especially, the recent experience of the SBA of the University of Milan adopting a new onboarding protocol for the 2023 recruitment, illustrating the different steps of the onboarding program, its application, the feedback of the new hires, the advantages and the critical aspects to implement.
