    Die Lex rivi Hiberiensis (IrH) erwähnt (unter anderem) zwei wichtige Institutionen des römischen Verfahrens: den Eid (iusiurandum) und das Versprechen, zu erscheinen (vadimnium). Aufbauend auf der Editio Princeps kann die herausragende neue Quelle behutsam und teilweise mithilfe epigraphischer und literarischer Belege wiederhergestellt werden. Es bietet einen neuen Einblick in die außergerichtliche Interaktion der Parteien und in die Einleitung eines formellen Zivilverfahrens, wirft aber auch neue Fragen auf.

    The lex rivi Hiberiensis (IrH) mentins (among others) two important institutions of Roman procedure: oath (iusiurandum) and promise to appear (vadimnium). Building up on the editio princeps, the oustanding new source can cautiously and partially be restored by using epigraphic and literary evidence. It provides a new insight into the parties extrajudicial interaction and into the initiation of a formal civil trial, but also raises new questions.
