    El comercio exterior es indudablemente uno de los tópicos más abordados en la literatura interesada en cuestiones económicas de América Latina, una región que depende extremadamente de las actividades asociadas a aquél. El dossier que presentamos reúne cuatro valiosas contribuciones que, por un lado, analizan algunos de los problemas del intercambio mercantil en tres países de Sudamérica en perspectiva histórica y, por el otro, revelan algunos de los temas que forman parte hoy de la agenda de investigación.

    Foreign trade is undoubtedly one of the most discussed topics in the literature interested in economic issues of Latin American, a region that extremely depends on the activities associated with it. We introduce a dossier composed by four valuable contributions that, on the one hand, analyze some of the problems of commercial exchange in three South American countries from a historical perspective and, on the other, reveal some of the questions that are part of the current research agenda.
