    El lenguaje fue el gran protagonista en la fi losofía del siglo XX. En la filosofía política esto se hizo evidente en las polémicas entre el “textualismo” y el “contextualismo” (o Escuela de Cambridge) sobre el estudio de la historia de la filosofía política. Este trabajo pretende, en primer lugar, mostrar cuál fue el objeto y cuál el alcance de esos debates; y en segundo lugar, realizar algunas observaciones críticas y algunas propuestas sobre la comprensión de la historia de la filosofía.

    Language was the great protagonist in the philosophy of the twentieth-century. In political philosophy this was evident in the polemics between “textualism” vs. “contextualism” (Cambridge Movement) about the study of political philosophy. This paper aims to show, first, the subject matter and the consequences of these discussions. Second, we want to make some critical observations and some proposals for the understanding of the history of philosophy.
