    Según la filosofía india clásica, el tiempo de vida, ¿es fijo o no? ¿Y qué podemos decir de la relación entre el tiempo y el karma? Todas las respuestas se vierten en la noción de âyus, la cual se despliega en torno a estas nociones proporcionando diferentes perspectivas, que derivan en la relación entre el tiempo, la acción y la libertad. Por lo tanto, el propósito de este trabajo es hacer una breve introducción a la noción de âyus tal como se presenta en la literatura india clásica, particularmente en el Mahâbhârata y la literatura sútrica.

    According to Indian classical philosophy, is our life span fixed or not? And what about the relationship between time and karma? All the answers pour into the notion of âyus, which unfolds around these notions providing different perspectives that derive into the relationship between time, action and freedom. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to make a brief introduction to the notion of âyus as it is shown in the classic Indian literature, most specifi cally in the Mahâbhârata and sutric literature.
