    La batalla de Rocroi es una de las más célebres de la historia militar, cuyos protagonistas, los temibles e inmortales tercios de infantería española, serán los protagonistas de una derrota a manos del ejército francés que ha pasado a la historia como el fin de la hegemonía de estos. Un acontecimiento ocurrido el 19 de mayo de 1643 que ha estado y sigue estando impregnado de propaganda en favor del vencedor, pese a que la batalla de Rocroi no decidió nada, ya que la guerra contra Francia continuó hasta la Paz de los Pirineos en 1659 y los tercios no dejaron de combatir. La caballería será la principal protagonista de este conflicto bélico, donde la infantería española no pudo desarrollar su capacidad de combate, resistiendo hasta el final para acrecentar la leyenda de una derrota magnificada, pero sin pérdida de honra y bravura. En el presente trabajo se verá qué sucedió y que repercusiones tendrá dicha batalla.

    The battle of Rocroi is one of the most famous in military history, whose protagonists, the fearsome and immortal Spanish infantry thirds, will be the protagonists of a defeat at the hands of the French army that has gone down in history as the end of hegemony of these. A historical event that occurred on May 19, 1643 that has been and continues to be impregnated with advertising in favour of the victor, despite the fact that the battle of Rocroi did not decide anything, since the war against France continued until the Peace of the Pyrenees in 1659 and the thirds did not stop fighting. The cavalry will be the main protagonist of this war conflict, where the Spanish infantry could not develop its combat capacity, resisting until the end to increase the legend of a magnified defeat, but withoutloss of honor and bravery. In this work we will see what happened and what repercussions this battle will have.
