  • From the protective strategy of a minority to a popular consumer argument, coolness has come a long way. Once celebrated as a mark of distinction in pop literature, the question today is whether coolness is not long outdated when it comes to writing about issues and views of postmigrant realities that keep the political public in suspense. This article explores aspects and varieties of coolness in Deutschboden (2010) and Nochmal Deutschboden (2020) by Moritz von Uslar and addresses the question of whether the cool attitude can still serve as a cultural practice and aesthetics of self-assertion.
