    Este artículo pretende ofrecer una síntesis de la Organización de la Conferencia Islámica (OCI), una organización del panislamismo oficial creada en 1969 con motivo del incendio provocado en la mezquita al-Aqsa por extremistas judíos en Jerusalén.

    Junto con la Liga Islámica, ambas instituciones reflejan el renacimiento islámico destinado a fortalecer el papel de los países musulmanes en la sociedad internacional y en los acontecimientos internacionales.

    La Novena Cumbre de la OCI, celebrada en Doha (Qatar) en noviembre de 2000, estaba marcada por la Intifada palestina al-Aqsa. Esta, que sensibilizó enormemente la opinión pública árabe e islámica, exigía a sus lideres la toma de medidas eficaces para liberar la ciudad santa. Sin embargo, las expectativas iniciales fueron disolviéndose tras conocer los resultados de dicha cumbre.

    This article seeks to offer a synthesis of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OCI), an organization of the official panislamismo created in 1969 with reason of the fire caused in the mosque al-Aqsa for Jewish extremists in Jerusalem.

    Together with the Islamic League, both institutions reflect the Islamic rebirth dedicated to strengthen the paper of the Muslim countries in the international society and in the international events.

    The Ninth Summit of the OCI, taken place in Doha (Qatar) in November of 2000, it was marked by the Palestinian Intifada al-Aqsa. This that sensitized the opinion public Arabic vastly and Islamic, it demanded their leaders the taking of effective measures to liberate the sacred city. However, the initial expectations were being dissolved after knowing the results of this summit.
