    El estudio tiene el objetivo de analizar la enfermedad de Huntington: desarrollo humano y apropiación social del conocimiento, en el municipio Juan de Acosta, Colombia. El estudio es del paradigma positivista, enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo, de corte transversal. La población fue de ocho pacientes, con muestreo no probabilístico, de tipo intencional. Para recolectar la información se recurrió a un cuestionario semiestructurado. El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante el paquete estadístico SPSS. Se realizó el análisis descriptivo de las variables objeto de estudio. Dentro de los resultados, se resalta la necesidad de fortalecer los procesos de comunicación e información del manejo de la enfermedad de Huntington entre los diferentes actores involucrados, en especial los entes territoriales, y los pacientes. Además, los resultados de los instrumentos muestran una favorabilidad de los pacientes y familiares por la atención recibida desde fundaciones e instituciones educativas, destacándose el rol de la academia y su compromiso social. Con referencia a las conclusiones, se puede decir que, el Estado está llamado a mejorar la calidad y bienestar de vida de los pacientes con dicha enfermedad. Entre las recomendaciones se indica el diseño e implementación de un plan pedagógico sobre dicha enfermedad en las instituciones educativas colombianas.

    The study aims to analyze Huntington's disease: human development and social appropriation of knowledge, in the municipality of human development and social appropriation of knowledge in the municipality of Juan de Acosta, Colombia. Juan de Acosta, Colombia. The study is of the positivist paradigm, quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of eight patients, with non-probabilistic, intentional sampling. In order to collect information was collected by means of a semi-structured questionnaire. The data analysis was performed using the SPSS statistical package. A descriptive analysis of the descriptive analysis of the variables under study was performed. Among the need to strengthen the communication and information processes of Huntington's disease the need to strengthen communication and information processes on Huntington's disease management among the different stakeholders and the different actors involved, especially the territorial entities, and the patients. In addition, the results of the instruments show a favorability of patients and family members for the care received patients and their families for the care received from foundations and educational institutions, highlighting the role of academia and its social commitment. With reference to the conclusions, it can be said that the State is called upon to improve the quality and well-being of patients and their families.
